this is a scam if they are asking for a credit card. thank god, no one has given their card away or they'll charge your credit card.
i would still like to know how they got my cell number...
i also get this same kind of msg from a 416-000-0000 number..saying my vehicle warranty is up
No one has my number..but l made the mistake of putting my number on the new Canadian Do Not Call List..what a mistake...now l get at least 3 calls a week from telemarketers...and all from outside Canada. Thanks to our F***** useless Canadian government ..this is what we get!
Yeah the concept of a "do not call" list is inherently flawed because the very piece of information you're trying to keep private - the freaking phone number - is revealed by the very nature of *adding the number to the list*!!! Ultra ultra retarded. What kind of freaking total moron came up with the idea? Ugh...
well, I got several calls from the States as well... if you live in Canada and receive a call and you are not familiar with area code where call is coming from - do not answer! If it is important, they will live message. Never, from my experience, an automated service from a 'phishing' telemarketing company left a message... about what? Call us back, you have free gift. If I have a gift or won something, that means that an info about me was in that company database and, if they do not have my address but want to send me a legitimate win, they will leave a detailed message. Otherwise, it's crap, not worth your worries about missing such a call.
Cheers
