Another number for Portfolio Recovery Services. Called the number back and they ask for a language choice and then goes to Voicemail for Portfolio. Portfolio recovery was just fined millions of $ for their deceptive and illegal practices. I guess they are working overtime trying to make up their losses. Added to the block call list and my word this company uses a lot of different phone numbers.
Which is why you first need to send them a certified debt validation, cease and desist, or "not me" letter and then sue them.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of the date of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

I guess I'll prepare a log of calls in order to lodge valid complaints at these people. They've called me all hours, on Sundays, late at night and early in the mornings. I have No outstanding debts owed, never failed to pay any debts, never defaulted on a loan or debt of any kind, nor declared bankruptcy for any reason; and can prove this in court. I have nothing to fear and have a simple advantage: I owe no outstanding debts past or present.
