Yes, I am getting these calls. But I haven't had a land line phone for years. Just got one a couple of months ago and no one knows my number. But I keep getting calls for the person that had this number before me. Bank mortgae people calling, credit card people , Dr. Offices. Just all kinds of people calling asking for the couple that had this number before. Evidently phone com. didn't let number stay vacant very long before they reassigned it. I got all the other calls stopped. Now just this one. I could get my phone number changed, but then have to go thru all of that again. Or I could remove my phone and go back to not having land line. Don't really need it. Use my cell phone all the time.
I have the same problem, the call was hang up when I answered. And nothing was left but some noises in the voice message. Same thing happened with another call from 512-906-3892. What the hell do they want?!
These stupid people called my husband today and said that he owed $2000 for some outstanding ticket. Little do they know that he just got out of jail 6 months ago and is on probation now. If this were ligit and he does owe any kind of money then his P.O would let him know, or like other people have said, they will send something in the mail. I wish I could call them and give them a peice of my mind trying to get that kind of money from us.!
Thanks for the info. I live in Toledo, Ohio and this number calls with the same crap. I now forward my number to a fax. I've talked to a man once and he was a real weirdo! These people are referring to themselves as a “municipal” debt collectors. I’ve redialed the number more than once and I have listened to some wonderful music while on hold for nearly 30 minutes! Each time you call, there is a different greeting. Just ignore them. Eventually they will stop. Beware! There are other fictitious debt collectors out there. One called just today asking for two different individuals at different times of the day. I asked the idiot to repeat the phone number back to me. He couldn’t. He repeated a totally different number; but yet, he claimed he had written it down. I gave him the names of the individuals asked for and he’s re-stating a different name. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he said if you get her voice mail, you can leave your information. I replied No, if I get her voice mail, you will be receiving a call from my attorney for harassment. He grew quite silent after that.
