I was first called by a lady letting me know that I had won 2nd place in the Consumers Clearance House contest & won $800,000.00. I asked if this was a scam & she said definitely not. She asked several questions and then told me that I needed to talk to the Attorney David Falco. I spoke to him & he assured me that I had won & I would receive a Certified Cashiers check on Wed between 10-2. Then, he told me of taxes that needed to be paid prior to receiving that check in the amount of $105,000. However, he had a sponsor (Union Bank) that would pay 90% & Falco's firm would pay some. It would still be required of me to pay over $1000. I told him that they could take that from my winnings or that I could pay them after I received my check. He was not willing to do that & hung up on me very rudely. I believe that it was a scam!
Received call using same script as used with Edward LeClair. Man claiming to be an attorney named Godfrey Falco called from512 696-3333 and gave me the same instructions to follow and phone number 202 379-1884 for Federal Gaming and Trade Commission and 512 696-1418 to reach him. He wanted my financial info. When asked if I was unwilling to pay $1500 fee because I didn't trust him or didn't have it I told him both. Sounded like a scam so I ignored his instructions.
