These are the very kind people calling from Hoxworth Blood Center to request a blood donation to help extend a life(s). It is a misnomer that any medical community can "save a life"; they only can extend a life, for all will and do die. Anyway; they have called me for years and each time has been a pleasant experience because they are NOT "pushy" and are generally "kind" people.
I live 750 miles from Cincinnati, Ohio which is where the internet tells me Hoxworth Blood Center is located.
I have never even been to Cincinnati. I do not appreciate being called at random by a "not for profit" asking for me to donate blood for a location 750 miles away.
Prank call? Really? I have family members who work for this company. If they have your number, it is because at one point it belonged to someone who lived in the area. Believe it or not, this is a legitimate division of the University of Cincinnati whose collections and blood drives save lives. Consider it a prank call next time it's one of your family member's lives on the line and they need a blood transfusion. Don't want more calls? Tell them to take your number out of the system or block the number. Gee, if only there were logical solutions to some issues, right? And to put "not for profit" in quotes like they're profiting off of blood donations is disrespectful to the employees, considering all that they do. Dumb.
