Nielsen called me again. If they wish for me to participate in a survey, they really should leave a message rather than engage in the old familiar ring the phone and hang up during the answering machine's greeting.
Nielsen called twice today. I missed the first call, but, breaking my usual ignore these calls, I answered the second one.
The caller gave name as Julie and seemed quite pleasant. She explained that she was calling to conduct a quick survey about which TV and radio stations I had watched/listened to last night.
I provided the answers as best as I could (I didn't anticipate actually talking to Nielsen). After the survey, Julie confirmed my mailing address, and, as is customary for surveys, asked about the age and ethnic makeup of our household.
She did ask if I had any questions. Remembering this website, I mentioned that I have received numerous calls from Nielsen over the past several weeks. At no time did any of the agents leave any messages on our answering machine. I also mentioned this site and how many others find it disconcerting how no messages are being left.
Julie said that she understood how the lack of messages is annoying, however, they are being instructed to keep calling back rather than leaving a message.
