Got the same message today. I called back and she tried to tell me I would have to go to court. I told her she didn't have a clue What she is talking about. I think it's a scam.
Scam alert beware! Caller claims I took out a payday loan and then 'defrauded' the lender. I've never taken out a loan. They threatened criminal legal action, so I 3 wayed my attorney. They promptly hung up before my attorney could answer. My attorney claims that this is a scam. Just another scam to rip off the ignorant.
Received this message from this number May 24th “This is Barbara Weaver with Hunter and Knight mediation services you have a pending case in our office which does require your immediate attention it is imperative that I speak to you or your attorney of record today my contact number is 515-212-2466. if I do not hear from you or your attorney I will document that you waive your right to counsel and submit your case govern yourself accordingly…”
They did not say who they were looking for just YOU. I was sure that it wasn't for any one in my family so I called back this morning (May 25, 2017), was placed on hold while they "found out why they called my number", then was disconnected. I called again and asked what it was about and it was for someone else (a name that we've received debt collection calls for before -- must have had our phone number at one time -- though we've had this number for TEN years now). I then asked to speak to a Supervisor to complain about the threatening tone of the call and that they did not say who they were looking for. There was no Supervisor available so she said I could talk to her -- I told her what I thought nicely -- and then was firm about it and she ended up yelling at ME for wasting her time after I told them they'd wasted mine and told me if I didn't like getting all these calls for this other person I should change my phone number! I want to file a complaint somewhere -- maybe FTC.
