I got a call from them today. I checked it out before returning the call. I went to the Iowa Dept of Revenue web site first and found the number there for billing and collections. I called them and they were apparently doing a skip trace on someone with my last name, but not me. The white pages search that shows Eileen Kreager is a misspelling of a Department Head elsewhere in state government. Probably an old use of the number never corrected.
I too have been receiving calls weekly from this number and chose to research the number before calling. We live in Florida and always have so they have no reason to be contacting us. I believe if it's legit, the IRS would be sending a letter via snail mail, not by the phone or email.
I received a phone call yesterday from the Iowa Dept. of Revenue. 515-281-6944. They left a message it was very important I call them immediately. I have looked them up online and came across this site. I called them and didn't get an answer. I called the 888 number and got a recording they were not taking calls at that time. So what give with this can anyone tell me?
I got one of these phone calls from a restricted number, so checked it out and called back. They were looking for 2 people I have never heard of, and they told me they would be taking my name off their caller.
Well... that didn't happen so I called again and got a little heated with the person... now they call every 30 minutes, can you say HARASSMENT?
The phone call came THREE times in a row. Hung up on two of them, half listened next time. Decided to ignore since it is not a human. I have had other people looking for someone who lived here 5 years ago in my house here, not this phone number. Basically harassing since the deadbeat moved on long ago. I will not call them nor trust them. Automated calls are a bane to mankind!
