It is the Iowa Dept of Revenue doing collections. My call is for someone who had my cell number before me. I have asked to have my number removed and they do, but then, it seems, the next month I get calls again. Usually once I call back and talk to someone the call frequency increases but then dies down. It is SO irritating because I AM NOT WHO THEY WANT, they call ALL the time (was getting as bad as every hour one day), and I have no idea how to get it to stop. Today I've tried to call and "All representatives are busy. Please wait..." and the call gets dropped. Lovely.
Daily (sometimes 3Xday) robocalls from Iowa Department of Revenue. This is a work cell phone with numer never shared outside of work. Called them back and they were looking for somebody who had this number before. They said they'd remove the number from there records. We'll see.
I've been getting weekly restricted calls for months now. They stopped for a short time but are back, full force. Garbled message says to immediately call the IRS at 515-281-6944 concerning an urgent business matter. The first time I got the call, I was worried so I called. Got the recording that others have mentioned. Called again the following day. Got a chance to leave a message. Then, the next day, hubby told me I got a call from the Des Moines IRS and the lady had no clue what I was talking about or rattling on about (her words!). So I called the 800# for the IRS and talked to a very nice lady who reassured me that nothing was wrong, that they had not called, and that I should not worry about it because any correspondence will always be followed up with a letter if their first phone call is not answered. So, I think it's some kind of weirdo out there, getting their kicks at our expense. What the motive is, to bother us with these calls, is beyond me! But they keep coming, over and over. One right after the other on some days. It's to the point that I may call my provider and say I need this caller blocked or traced. One of the two will eliminate the frustration I have been dealing with. Good luck everyone!
