I've been annoyed with them for so long and been ignoring them. I decided to finally answer and no one is there! I've answered at least 3 times to silence. What am I supposed to do if they're not even talking any more?
They said they were paying the hospital direct. Hospitals want a minimum amount...usually at least a $100 whether you can afford it or not. They will turn you over to a collector if you don't pay that much.
I have been receiving this call several times a day. They asked for another name. I tried after several times finally got thru. I told them I am not the person the wanted and to stop calling. I am surprised this number is listed with all these complaints
ya, study the fair debt collection practicing act, very simple. take down representatives name and location from call at beginning of conversation. Inform them that you know your rights as a debtor and know the fair debt collections practice act and demand your rights. If they don't follow suit you are liable to sue for literally thousands so knowing your rights makes them listen..
go after em. Start notating times they call, who you talked to, and which office they were located in. Note the conversation on what you told them, things as times you told them they could call times you told them they couldn't, or if you told them they couldn't call period. Inform to them that you know your rights as a debtor and how the fair debt collection practicing act protects you (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_Debt_Collection_Practices_Act). If they cease to abide by your request take them to court. some people have made millions sueing debt collection agencies, not saying I would do it for the money but if we don't stand up for our rights who will???
