I ask them which of my three IP addresses is the one with the problem; they have no idea what that means. I keep insisting that unless they can tell me which IP address is the one with the problem that I don't know which computer to go to with their instructions to give them access to "fix it". After several repetitions of this they hang up.
Just received a call about my computer and he is from TSA that handles the server and he saw that something was wrong with my computer. He actually asked used my Mom's name and I pretended to be her and let him talk then said I was 93 and didn't have a computer! (she doesn't). He hung up.
This is a scam, they tell you your computer has a problem and they'll fix it. I get this call all the time; I work from home. One day I wasn't particularly busy and he called. I kept him on the phone for half an hour. He said "go to your start button". I said "where is that?" He told me. Then he says "do you see control panel?" and I say "I don't know what that is.....I see the weather, I see Google, I see a lovely picture of flowers....." I went on with the guy like this for 30 minutes. He thought he had a live wire. Finally I told him I was jerking him around. He said a couple things that weren't nice! They do have your number, so be careful how you play with them. I thoroughly enjoyed it though.
Whoever this is who's phoning needs a reality check. They've phoned here for months. I finally read all the comments here, and sure enough--a scam. I ignored it most times but finally picked up the phone and told them in no uncertain terms to stop calling. Whoever this person is who calls doesn't get it. Called back again and I told them the same thing I said last time---in a MUCH louder voice. Let's see if they can 'get it' now! Duh! Do they not realize they're wasting their time calling people who clearly told them to get lost??? Clueless!
