The ONLY reason I answered the call is because I was expecting to be getting a call from someone that I did not know their number.
Automated caller. Had the voice down pretty good. Didn't catch it was a machine at first. Asked if my name was Michael, etc... Proceeded to say I won something... I immediately hung up.
I am getting calls from this 'number' often tho each time the last two digits are always changed. Started out being 58 then 60 then 62 and anyway u get the picture--yesterday it was ending in 65! In my case I am almost certain neighbors PAT and ROBIN are using one of those spoofing devices to harass me---that is to say they make it appear like the number it is coming from on caller ID is legitimate (?)but it is really them here in the neighborhood phoning me! Wish I knew where to buy said spoofing devices bc payback works too!!! Sick sick people they are. Never has a voice mail been left bc I would tape it and then have some proof.
On the rare occasion I have called back,before I block it that is, the phone usually has a recording that it is no longer in service or the like! Just FYI for the rest of you -- check into spoofing too!!! There are real sickos out there as in my case and seemingly they stop at nothing to try and destroy your life!!! good luck.
I doubt that your neighbors are going through that much trouble just to "harass" you. Clearly these numbers are linked to some type of scam, as there are many people getting similar calls. More likely than not, the people on the other end are not local and are just targeting different area codes.
Received a call from this spam number this afternoon. They are never answered and immediately dropped into a blocked number service. Sadly, this is only a temporary fix as other spoofed numbers are used. I am afraid there are no real means to stop or control these types of garbage calls -- it will continue to only get worse.
