The DNC is a list that only the honest business's is going to abide by.  It can not stop the illegal callers from calling you.   Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

They call me once a day everyday.  Glad to know it's "Academic Advisors" calling from yet a different number.  They have used 716, 315 and 518 numbers in the past.  I have explained numerous times that I have a Masters degree and am not interested.  I have posted my resume on many sites like Monster and Career Builder, but I also participate in paid online offers which I am sure have sold my information to places like this.

I called the number.  The voicemail says 'press 1 to be added to our 'do not call' list.'  Let's see if it actually works.

All the world loves an optimist. Why would an illegal telemarketer remove you from any list? It's not like they obey any rule of law? By pressing a number you have verified that there is a live person at that number, which will be resold to other scammers.
