Don't take the calls personally, you say? How can we not take the calls personally when they come late, late night and early morning, dinner time and evening? After a while, it gets real personal..............Babies being disturbed by the calls in the middle of the night and remain awake for hours no matter what time mommy and daddy have to be up for work the next morning.........yeah, personally tired of the BS
Like Some Guy from page 1, I too am a retired veteran. I also like to mess with these people. I received a call from these butt holes and I pressed 1. A lady answered and told me her first name and ID number. She then asked if I am interested in the Medical Alert at which time I responded this isn't the people to lower my interest rate? She responded no and tried to proceed with her Med Alert speel, and again I asked it she was with the lower your interest rate scam. She again said no and tried to talk at which this time I asked if she knew the phone number so I can lower my interest rate. She was getting irritated at this time so I said let me see if I can look that number up, by the time I get to answer the phone, they have hung up already, well thanks, and then I hung up. Since these people are relentlessly calling, I figured bring it on, I can play the game too. If they ask for a name, I give them a fake name and the address of our local police department. Shame the government can't stop them.
I've pulled their chain once for about 5 minutes before they gave up. Next time I'm going to see how much information I can get out of them. You'll notice they try to avoid even giving you the name of their business if they can avoid it. They told me it was "Senior Safety Care". I searched on line and couldn't find any business with that name. No surprise as they're spoofing their Caller ID (516-220-1234 is not a valid, working number) you'd expect them to lie about anything else.
Report them to the national Do Not Call Registry (https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx) – the more complaints received the more likely it is that these dirtbags will be singled out for investigation and prosecution.
If they call again try to get more information about them and post it here.
I never even hear the phone ring anymore. Because it DOESN'T ring. 3 calls within seconds were captured and stopped from even ringing my line 3 hours ago. Recording said "Attention Seniors, medic alert", I hung up. Only answered because whom ever had this phone number before me has debt collection agencies calling & I'm trying to get them to stop. Like that will ever happen. Yes caller ID says New York for what it's worth, I'm sure they keep spoofing their number. That's what these scammers do & VOIP.
