Don't take the calls personally, you say? How can we not take the calls personally when they come late, late night and early morning, dinner time and evening? After a while, it gets real personal..............Babies being disturbed by the calls in the middle of the night and remain awake for hours no matter what time mommy and daddy have to be up for work the next morning.........yeah, personally tired of the BS
First off, I agree with 'it's a scam' guy, it IS a scam.
But people, ignoring the call won't do a damn thing. It cost these people almost NOTHING to make these calls. They fake the connections through the internet, and it's all done by computer.
The ONLY way to hit these people is to ANSWER the phone. Play along. But DO NOT give them any real info. Fake it. Keep them on the phone as long as possible. That is the ONLY thing that will hurt them, by hitting them in the pocketbook. Affect their success rate. Cost them money. Heck, I put on an adult sound track and lay the phone down by the speaker once. 15 minutes later, the person was STILL listening!
Last call from these scammers was April 29 and here they are again with a different number today: 516.220.1234. it does not matter with thieves -- and when they change their phone number every month you know they are trying to stay away from being caught. Oh how we wish they were! Very annoying. At least four calls for same scam and all different phone numbers.
Dirtbags just called here. I was able to waste a good 5 minutes of their time. Call was initiated by a recorded message (which is illegal under the TCPA). Pressed 1 to speak to an operator who told the business name was "Senior Safety Care" but refused to give me a phone number at which I could return the call or tell me what state that business name was registered in (also violations of the TCPA).
I notice this "company" has only been using (or spoofing) this phone number since April 29 (first post in this thread). I expect they'll change it quickly.
