This might be one of those medical alert-type calls. I believe most of these calls are spoofed. The actually caller is located in the Caribbean somewhere. Some have been located in Florida and there have been some action by the Florida Attorney General against them.
These are total scams.
They won't stop calling, so your best bet is a call blocker.
Recorded messages - "Hallo seniors - it is time to do (something) because of the new medical law...." and so on - did not hear the whole thing, but they use a lot of different numbers to call people and it is all recorded.
Will report them to FTC Complaint.
Picked up since my girlfriend is asleep and recovering from illness, so I did not want to let the phone ring. Got a recorded message about a senior scam of some kind. I had an almost identical call yesterday from 566-228-1068, so these people are apparently cycling through a series of spoofed numbers. This time they didn't bother showing a name in the ID, just repeated the number.
I received the same call and googling turns not only to be the senior scam reported above. Interestingly, google also identified it as, and also listed a google map location.
Bureau of Public Works
Address: 400 Oak St, Garden City, NY 11530
Phone:(516) 228-3915
I wonder if some internal public works employee is running a scam side business from there.
I blocked it with my call blocking software. Kills the number now in my database on the first ring and informs scam callers in my phone has been disconnected. I can now enjoy week night dinners with my family in peace
