Same calls. This is not a PBA. It is a total scam. The Police Conference of New York is not a known police organization, nor does it contribute significantly to police charities.

Received a call today from the 'Police Conference of New York'.
Call was from 516 986-2410, a landline in Farmingdale, NY (Long Island).
Agent read from boilerplate text that this group was the 'preeminent fraternal police organization, representing 229 PBA's (Police Benevolent Associations).
This is a scam. Their website is bogus (http://pcny.org/): big listing of so-called 'PBA's', all dead links.
Any attempt to open other homepage headings yields:
'you must be a member to view this'.
Here is their 'membership application': http://pcny.org/images/uploads/pcny-appl...
Pathetic attempt at trying to appear legit.
Be advised that the NY Division of State Police issued a press release indicating that NO Benevolent Organization in the state is authorized to solicitate any funds privately: they are fully taxpayer funded: http://troopers.ny.gov/Public_Informatio...
Got a call from this number in Hewlett NY several times also. scam
they claim to be from some Police Benevolent association and when I told him that I give to my local police precinct, the guy hanged up. I had received another call just now from the same number
