I love to get calls from these people. Rather than getting angry I highly recommend stringing them along and wasting their time. They will go a very long time trying to explain things assuming you are some idiot American.
This nunmber called my aunt and it was a foreign sounding man like pakistan, and told my aunt that my uncle died in the hospital and to get there right away. There are sick people in the world and i traced the number to downstate n.Y. Near nassau.
Man with a Foreign accent (maybe Indian?) said he was from "technical department of windows" and that they detected a virus on my computer. I asked him which computer? And he said all of the ones that use the internet. I asked him how he detected this and he said that windows monitors computers. He wanted me to hit the windows+R keys to run some program that he would explain, but I told him not to call again & hung up.
I got a call from this number but did not answer because caller id said it was from "New York." I do know anyone there. Instead, I looked up the number here and it appears that others have been called and gotten SCAMMER messages or COMPUTER HIJACKER calls from this number. I've added it to my Call Blocker, so no more interruptions.
This is a SCAM.... they want you to buy computer software and will tell you that you computer has been hacked...they are the hackers. They target the elderly.
