Joe, the call you reported DID NOT originate from New York. This phone number is not in service, so that means the caller "spoofed" their phone number in order to make it appear they were calling from NY.
Caller ID showed Cell Phone NY. I never answer a call when I don't recognize the number. If it's an important call, they will leave a message. Since no message was left, I guess it wasn't all that important. Pound sand scammers!
