Got the same call .... Heavy accent ( Indian) about my missing dog. Said he was from pet rescue in NY guaranteed the return of my dog in a box in 4 days! I said in a box?? He then corrected himself and said a crate mamm in a crate for a fee. I said really? Let me speak to your supervisor... He said " he's very busy right now" as car horns were blowing in the background.... I said oh he must be out rescuing pets as we speak due to all the noise in the background.... He pretended not to understand me and kept saying he can rescue my dog for a fee... I said I'm in NY all the time why don't you just give me your address and I can stop by and give you my info. In person!! He said " oh no no I can't disclose my address" I said so you are a pet rescue, what to take money from me to HELP me find my pet yet your address is a big secret? He then hung up on me and now the Kline is disconnected..... So sad there are people praying on people for money over a loss..... Please be aware of this is is a sad scam... Btw the call was from a cellphone based in Nassau Ny
It's fortunate the people running this scam are Indian and not Hmong. If the Hmong really had your dog or cat it would have already been cooked and eaten.
