1. If you don't want to be associated with sleezy stuff, all you have to do is stop being sleezy.
2. If you create an internet or social media presence, your "info" is public already, and you can have no expectation of privacy. Especially seven months down the line.
3. The info was available already. Maybe the impact is greater since it is collected in one spot.
4. By putting a public request on this site to ask that what is public, is to be hidden, you have only bought yourself more attention.
My boss got a message from Anthony Giamo (sp?): Anthony Giamo calling on behalf of one of his clients who has retained him to find a new accountant for them. This is a 50 year old manufacturing company in the [name of the town where our office is] area. They just lost their accountant since 1963 to retirement. We actually called and it is a scam to get listed on an accounting search database.
I received a message from Bruce Goldblatt (sp?) who gave his work number as 516.325.1688 x1066. He said he is working with a client who is a high net worth entrepreneur who just sold his share of a multi-million dollar company. Said he is looking for an accountant locally to provide services. It seemed suspect that he did not provide his own firm's name so I googled his number. Glad I found these posts. Won't be returning the call.
