Apparently my computer is sending out "error messages" and this person is going to help me fix it. Said he was from "windows." I told him my computer was in the shop being repaired since I got a call 2 days ago about it sending out error messages. He asked when I would be picking up my computer and I said two days. He said he will return my call. Excellent customer service for a scam artist! Meanwhile, my computer must be sending out more error messages....I wonder if he'll call in 2 days and what excuse I will use then?
SCAM! One of the many "Your computer has a virus!" scammers that claim your computer has a virus & directs you to go to a website to "fix" your problem where in actuality they hijack your computer.
DO NOT GO TO ANY WEBSITE OR PERFORM ANYTHING THAT THESE CALLERS TELL YOU TO - they are LYING & trying to STEAL YOUR INFORMATION.
Got a call saying it was Microsoft windows security and there was an attempt to hack my computer 2 days ago. Either Nigerian, Pakistani, or East Indian accent. I hung up.
