This # calls several times a day and hangs up. I too would love to know how to block this # and a couple of other #s that do the same thing. Don't see the point of the hangups.
I got the same exact type of call except they started the survey and it was also about hip replacement surgery and I told them No and to please remove my number from their list and I hung up. They'd been calling my cell for days...and never left a msg.
I have received numerous calls from this number in the past few days and have stopped answering because no one is on the other end. What's really irritating about these calls is that it's my work number so I don't have time to deal with this nonsense. If you get a call from this number, do yourself a favor and don't answer or callback. Also, they don't ever leave messages.
We just received a call from 516-441-2500 and my wife answered the phone. It was a guy on the other end with a foreign accent. He said he was an employee of Microsoft and that Microsoft had noticed that their were viruses on one of our PC's. He wanted my wife to let him have access to our computer and said he would walk her through it. SCAMMER! SCAMMER! SCAMMER!
Luckly my wife was smart enough to tell him that Microsoft does not look at people's computers looking for viruses and that there was no way she was going to give him access to our PC. The guy was NOT A MICROSOFT EMPLOYEE at all he was a SCAMMER looking to harvest personal information from our PC. Kudo's to my wife for figuring that out.
The phone number 516-441-2500 showed OUT OF AREA on our caller ID. So I did a reverse number search at whitepages.com and it showed the phone number 516-441-2500 as a VoIP phone call from Nassau, NY. If they call you do not give these thieves any access to your PC nor give them any personal information. Probably wanted to wipe out our bank account and max our credit cards. NOT!
