Received five calls from this number. Caller with Indian accent, first call laughed at him second call cursed him out, called 3 more times let it go to the answer machine.
Told me my Microsoft was sending error messages also. I told him I couldn't talk. He continued to call back. I read on the actual Microsoft site that if I follow his directions that he could take control of my computer and steal information. Also Microsoft would NEVER call people.
Everything you stated is true. The call is a scam to steal your money, information, identity and anything else that isn't nailed down. NEVER let any stranger who calls you remote into your PC. Do not answer unknown callers and do not call them back. Think of your phone in the same manner as your front door. Do you let total strangers into your house just for the heck of it? Protect your personal information-no one else will protect it for you.

Don't give them s***.
They want your computer IP address, MAC # and/or payment over the phone. They call back repeatedly and try to sound like they are with a legit company like Microsoft.
