I received a missed called from 518-509-1012 today from a Marisa Teller (It did sound like she was reading a script, given her pauses) That her office (which she didn't name) received an affidavit (which she didn't say what) concerning my name and that I or my legal counsel contact her asap. Failure to return the call would result in her office making a decision on my behalf and without my knowledge, then she gave me a file # to refer to.
The call back # she left, was the same from the missed-call log. It looks like this # is also using 518-509-1012/1014/1016 - HOW DO WE MAKE THESE CALLS STOP? No, I didn't call back, I blocked the #. But, it seems like they call from different #'s every couple of months. To my number, my husband, my sister, a job I had over a decade a go....
I spoke to a lady, a Lilly Rizzo, she was very nice, then she transferred me to an [***] she said was in the fraud division from this number. I told him to send me the court papers, and he was rude saying he wishes me the best of luck, smh.
I just go a message from a Lilly Rizzo, stating she was calling me in regards to my ssn, has a case number and tells me or my legal counsel to call back by the end of the day today, failure to return the call would result in her office making a decision on my behalf and without my knowledge. She had my name right, but then again my name is listed in my voicemail message. Hmm.. sounds very similar to everyone else's calls.

The gentleman who called me was a guy named "Jay". He said i would be issued a summons 24-48 hours and if i was not available to sign... etc.. and something about a supervisor at work having to be present if they had to come to my work. It is amazing how believable these people sound. This was for some kind of money mutual loan. I have never had one. He actually convinced me that i did owe them money. It wasn't until the next day when i looked the number and found all the complaints. This company apparently is being investigated by the BBB because they are using the BBB logo without permission. The company refuses to talk or contact the BBB. That makes you wonder how many people have fallen for this scam and the money they will never get back. I was able to cancel the card i willingly gave him. It was a stupid mistake. They will not get my money that i worked hard for. I am glad that these types of sites and resources are here to provide the public with valuable information. "United Merchant Asset Recovery" is the name of the company they claim to represent. I think they are from New York. If you look up the company it has fraud and scam written all over it. Any legitimate business that is collecting money will contact you through mail and will not threaten you. Companies work with people not bully them or threaten them.
