Caller wanted to talk to one of our employees. When told I couldn't transfer him and to send a message to our e-mail address, he wanted to talk to pay roll and my supervisor. (I already had information on this number.) He became beligerent and abusive and said that he was with the Federal government (anybody can say that) and wanted to talk to payroll about garnishing wagesand started more threats, so I hung up. BTW, garnishment is not done over the phone and government employees who have legitimate business are not that rude in my experience.
They started calling my home number and cell phone number a couple months back. They'd never leave a message. After getting tired of seeing thier number show up on my cell phone, I called the number back. I got a gal that confirmed that they'd called. They were looking for my old boyfriend. I told her that he didn't live here and I didn't want to hear from them any more.
Thought that was it, but the next day I got a call from "George" from GC Services. He was tracking down my old boyfriend about (Sally Mae) college loans that are over 20 years old. George had linked the boyfriend to me, and even linked up to my Father who lives in a different state. After he'd called my father, he called me.
I explained that the boyfriend no longer lived here, and I didn't know where he was. I requested that they stop calling me, remove me from their list as I pay my bills and have absolutely no outstanding student loans...I never even had loans when I went to college. George ended the conversation requesting that if I talk to the boyfriend, to have him call George back.
Since that time, I randomly get calls that either doesn't show any name on Caller ID it just shows the number...or I get a call from Operations Division. Thanks to the links on this and other "Who called me" type of web-sites, I've filed a complaint with the FTC. Hopefully the FTC will step in and GC Services will stop calling.
called for my mother-in-law and they listed her former step-daughter's name AND her ex-husband's first wife's name, claiming these two women used her as a reference? to what i don't know, the guy said he'd call back later.
This guy called from this number, and stated that he wanted to talk to me. It sounded fishy from the get go, and I told him that he had the wrong number. He then proceeded to say that I had applied for something and he was calling me about a job. I still told him that he had the wrong number.
I had my identity stolen 4.5 years ago. It is a nightmare of ongoing strange phone calls. I no longer answer any number I don't recognize or is shown as "unavailable." I let it go to VM and they rarely leave a message. This number calls a couple of days in a row and then I get a break for a few weeks. Very annoying. Never leaves a message. I now have my ringtone set to mute for this number.
First a 520-293-3643 number called me. They did not leave a vm but noticed it was the 3rd time in 2 weeks they've called, so I called the number back. Went straight to a vm saying they don't take calls and that if I wanted to talk to someone I needed to dial 877-551-9751. A lady picked up saying they were G.C. Services and asked for my first and last name. She couldn't find me with my last name so she asked for my SS#...which of course I said I would not give that out. Then I was transferred to another person, a guy (maybe it was Mike? not sure), and he asked me what my phone number was and so I said it and then asked me if I was some Dave Dreams...I said no and that I would like it if they took me out of their list and he said okay and hung up. So yah, pretty weird!
