Same here... I received a call from this number at 4:29 CST today, and it went immediately into the recording of a conference call in progress. I hung up without pressing any keys. I suspect that if one has ever been involved with a network marketing group of any kind & at any time, that the up-line managers can access your information and take it with them from company to company as they move around. I made the mistake of joining one of these many moons ago, and I have received this type of call from time to time, and there's seemingly no way to put an end to them.
i got a call from this number and it left a message. It said my conference call has started and to press 1 to join. Then it said to press 9 to not receive any further calls. It kept repeating to press 9 to be not receive calls, but only mentioned to press 1 initially which seems odd.
By doing so you verify that they have a person, not a machine. They can sell your number and then the circle continues of unwanted phone calls.
They called my Verizon cell phone today around 3:30 but I have also received calls on my home phone saying the same thing. This has happened several times the past 3 months, it may just be a new way of advertising. Seems to me that it would be illegal for them to call and not have a way to exclude yourself from future calls.
If I am bored I get the person on the line and then try to waste as much of their time as I possibly can, You get bonus points of you get them to sigh. I butter them up and they think that they are about to get a sale, then I say something that makes them think that they are talking to a complete idiot! I was looking thru e-mails this morning and took 31 minutes of a guys time. After 30 minutes then it is obvious the you are talking to the stupid person, then I get off or hang up.
Might as well have some fun but only when the person is already on the line. Never press any key for then they know that the line belongs to a real person and not a machine and they can sell the numbers that they have hits on.
