Why doesn't someone just nut up and answer the damn call. I would have, but I missed it. (phone charging). I am pretty sure they are just scammers. Just tell them to stop calling and hang up!
OK So this is extremely fishy. I played along. Said I have 4 credit cards with balances and interest rates ranging from 17-24%. They were so incredibly interested in helping me! I could hear the woman, Grace, foaming at the mouth at the concept of her high commission.
When asked what vendor the card with the highest standing balance was, I told her "um whatever used to be wachovia" and she said "Chase?" i agreed, I don't pay attention to who has acquired who. She knew the first 4 digits of my "credit card" offhand. (freaky?! i guess they have a list.) Anyway, she asked me to get my credit card or statement ready to give her the information.
Thats when I started asking questions. I said "My husband won't feel comfortable with me giving out our financial information without credentials. Can I please have the name of your company? "account service. what time will he be home? we close at 6. are you on EST? whats your name?" are you registered with the better business bureau? What is the *real name* of your company? "yes, we're with fdic etc, we have to be. my supervisor can answer any question your husband has. I don't have access to that type information. But a supervisor...." Yeah... can I talk to your supervisor? "sure, please hold." *CLICK*
This company should be put out of business. Tomorrow, I'm calling the FDIC and asking them what their affiliation with this cold calling company. They're extremely rude, call not only at dinner time, but throughout the day, repeatedly. Never leave messages. Hang up on you if you have any questions about their credentials. They don't even know the name of their employer? I also asked how they got my number, she couldn't answer that.....
these people need to be stopped. :\ I feel bad for the people who get scammed by them.
I got call just before a short while. I pressed 1 and talked with one guy. Asked about, how they help me when I dont have any debt on my credit card. He disconnected..
