Just got a call from them today, sating they were "conducting a confidential financial investigation". They wanted information from my dept. on a previous customer.
I personally called them back and let them know that without a court order or written permission from the company they were inquiring about, I couldn't share any information.
The person continued to ask questions and then wanted to know who we use for collections.
I politely told them "not you"
This appears to be one of the bottom feeder debt collectors. Should you ever get any mail from them dispute the charges immediately. Should you ever have a lawsuit filed against you by these people be sure you answer denying the charges otherwise they will be able to get a default judgment against you which will follow you forever. We recently got a call from them saying they were conducting "an investigation" of a certain business entity which is no longer in existence. I told them to go pound sand and to put any further inquiries into writing with no other phone calls. Incidentally, I would advise getting an address from them should you ever, in a moment of weakness, answer a call from them (of course you can get this info on the web) and send them a certified letter (with a copy by regular mail) telling them to no longer contact you by phone. Should they continue to harass you by phone a claim should be filed under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Consult a local lawyer for specific advice regarding your state. NEVER, EVER give them nay information about you, your address, account information or anything else.

Very polite man called our company and asked who our Controller was.
When I provided a name, he asked to be transferred.
I honestly don't know who he is or who he works for, but he was polite and not pushy.
