Hey Sally same thing happened to me and he hung up on me too. When I tried to call back it gave two options, one was to remove yourself from list and press two if you would like to speak with someone. When you bit two it goes right back to the main menu. The message doesn't identify the name of the company and obviously when you Google the number it should tell you who is calling. I think it is some sort of a scam.
said this is regarding AUTO protection plan for my vehicle.... sounds like scamming/phising compay calling to have me sign up for a warranty plan on a 12 year old vehicle... SMH
Got a call from this number. They said they were the "official warranty company" for Nissan. Told me i needed to apply for an extended warranty. I asked if they were the official warranty company that my dealership uses. They said they were. I told them i bought an extended warranty from the dealership when i purchased the car. They said that their records didn't match that and they would update their records.
Then i asked them why, if they were the ones providing the "official warranties" they did not have a record of my purchase at the dealer. They said they would "update" my records and not call again. I then told them i wanted them to confirm whether or not my vehicle had the extended coverage or not, since they "obviously must be the ones providing it". The person said he did not know because he can't know "everything about the company". I told him to transfer me to someone that did know.
So, after being on hold for five minutes, i went to a supervisor. We went through almost the same conversation. Then the supervisor hung up on me.
About 2 weeks later the same thing happened again. Similar story, and i was hung up on by the supervisor.
If this company is not a scam, it certainly doesn't sound like a trustworthy company. I would not provide them with any of my money or my information.
