This number first called me at my work phone and was really pissed because this is where i work! to top it off they are trying to get my info from me by TREATING me that the police will be at my door at my current address. saying i am default with a payday loan that i never recieved.saying they are from the State Attonrey Office of California Los Angeles..this is a scam and want all you rmoney!!!
This is an Indian call center using VoIP to spoof caller ID's into thinking the call is originating from Kings Bay, CA.
I received a call from these scammers, and they answer the phone by stating "State Attorney's Office" After messing with the Indian guy (who called himself "Steve Smith" but sounds like he just got off the Bombay Express yesterday) I pretended to go along, and asked "what state" He then said "the State Attorney's office of Lisa Something in LA" So I said, "The State Attorney General in LA is suing me ?? OH MY GOD" and he said No, state Attorney's office, not the State Attorney General" (FYI, sometimes you'll get similar calls from the "United States of Attorney" <--- SERIOUSLY ????)
"So I said wait...you're telling me it's just a scam ? You're a scammer, you're a scammer" I just started repeating that, and after the third time, he called me a "dick sucking [***] [***]" (this is no joke) and hung up.
So people, seriously, relax - what kind of reputable law firm has half of Bombay making calls for them, then calling people those kinds of names and hanging up ? These people are reading from a script, and the minute someone pushes them, the start stuttering and name calling because they don't know what else to do. Next, what kind of legit law firm has a call center ?? Thirdly, whether you actually defaulted on a loan or whatever, YOU CAN NOT BE PUT IN JAIL, and depending on the type / terms of the loan, you may not be able to be sued either.
So seriously, if these people had any teeth, you would receive an official legal notice in the mail from whatever two-bit shyster law firm is actually suing you with a court date. People misrepresenting themselves from India reading a script are NOT legit. If you can, block their number. I have my phone service set so that when they call me, their call will forward directly to the FCC Complaint Hotline. It works wonders :-)
Just one more thing to add, I repeatedly called these people back and messed with them relentlessly - they actually blocked MY number from coming into them, LOL. So again, what does this tell you ??
these people are scammers they try everything to get you to pay them over the phone and use every threat they can to try to scare you into paying them. They get your personal info offline and and try to use it against you warning do not feed into this its a fraud.
I received 3 calls from these people that can barely speak English saying that they were from the State's Attorneys Office & telling me that I have charges against me in my name. When I asked what they were, he said he could not tell me. I hung up on him, so he called back 2 more times. By then I had googled his number & when I told him he wasnt even in the US, he hung up on me. lol. I knew I had no charges against me. I told him if there were charges against me, then come & get me!
I was in need of some emergency cash so I applied for a quick loan (at a high interest rate). I what looked to be a legit lender but it was not it was a middle man. No social was given just number and name. I found I got my direct deposit and no longer needed the loan. About a week ot 2 later I get a call form a loud telemarketer named "John Clark" which wasnt his name because all east indian telemarketers are full of crap. I was threatened with legal issues, a lawsuit, and a warrant for my arrest (cops dont call they show at the front door) I laughed and toyed with "John" for many many ..well felt like hours but minutes. He hung up on me I really miss Speaking to "John" .....In a nutshell I used google voice and knew that this guy wasnt calling me from California as it sounded like a airport in the background of people just talking. Dont let them stress you have fun, make friends, I hear Aussies do it all the time..
Enough with these calls. They called my place of business. They call my phone 10 to 15 times a day. It is getting so out of hand now that I just contacted a lawyer to see if there is anything that can be done about these crazy people. So that is the next step. I am so fed up with this. Telling me I have to pay a fiance charge on a loan that I never got and never even applied for. These people are nuts
