Got a call today. The asked for my name. I ssid "who's calling?" and they hung up. It was someone with a middle eastern or indian accent.
When I called right back I get a message "six dash three. The number you dialed is invalid, please check the area code dialed, or call directory assistance in the city you wish to reach."
I don't think that's a phone company issue, I think they use this for call screening.
I've been on the do not call since the day it was available, and keep putting in my numbers to make sure I'm still there.
States he is from US Financial and can cut credit card debt in half. Just wants some info first. Asked how he got my phone number he replied "from the local data base". I asked if they had a website or a phone number to call and he stated "yes". I asked what they were and he replied, "well, I'm not the person to give that to you". I informed him that we were on the Do not call list and his reply was "since when?". I told him to take us off their list and not to call again. So.... 3 days later I get another call from this number. I told him that they had called a few days ago, to which he replied "well, that can't be possible". I informed him again, that we are not on the do not call list and not to call again. I also told him I was recording the conversation, and CLICK, he hung up.
I got a call from this number and I could tell it was some computer generated call. They asked for me by name and I said he's not in right now and could I take a message? They hung up on me.
