I havde recieved at least 4 -6 calls from a Frank Martin from "Harrison Law Offices out of Cailfornia." He ahs called me once at work and he is calling from 916-304-5183. I told him unless I recieved something in writing with all the information I was not talking to him. When I told him I called the police he told me to go to the police station and call him from there. After I hung up with him I did call the local police and left a message for them. After I got off the phone with the police Frank Martin called again. I hung up on him. And he cross my fingers has not called again. I have not taken a payday loan out in 3 yrs or more. There has got to be a way to stop them,
heir number is now 530-230-9512 and first the "paralegal" is named Mark Sanders with a heavy or spanish accent who gave me a case # and said I was being sued for a payday loan I defaulted on with Cash Advance USA. He would not answer my questions about the loan, amount and date of loan. They somehow do have the last 4 numbers of my SS# but I did not confirm it was accurate. I asked for his boss who happened to be JOHN PETERSON (oh forgot I did get the firm name was HARRISON LAW FIRM out of Chico CA). He actually said different information than Mark Sanders (he said I would get the documents in the mail) but John said his investigation team would be at my work tomorrow to arrest me.
I believe they are getting this information from an application I filled out for a payday loan recently. They say the debt is from 4 to 5 years ago...Sorry but I didn't try to get a loan until recently. So they must have an insider at one of these payday loan referral companies.
John Peterson also had a heavy accent and was rude and very threatening. I called the Chico Police dept, no help and then the CA Attorney General's Office. PLEASE PLEASE file reports with them. The more times they see the name HARRISON LAW FIRM they will get the Dept of Justice to investigate them.
It appears they have moved from the 415 # to the 530 area code. I will call their telephone company and let them know about this as well.
Also they gave me this #530-237-2233 as their contact # even though the other one showed up on my caller id. I have tried calling them back to no avail.
I also received numerous calls from the 530-230-9512 number. The person Mark spoke in a heavy accented voice (sounds foreign). Claiming I took a payday loan out recently and didn't repay it. They were threatening a civil suit and criminal charges. I never took out a payday loan recently. They had my social security number and knew some of my bank account information. I asked to speak with the manger to get clarification on when loan was taken, where, and how much. They could not give me any solid verifiable details or supporting information. They got angry when I told them this was some kind of scam, and unless they could provide me with facts and documentation I was going to report this to my attorney.
Please everyone be very careful and wary about these types of calls. I will also be reporting this number to the attorney general office in my state.
Margaret - My husband called them 100 plus times today. He was called an "f#c#er" most of the time when he did speak. John Peterson asked him why he was wasting his time, his response was to waste John's time.
They do have caller id it appears. But you are right, everyone needs to be wary of this call. They had actually left me a message at 7:25am with the same menancing tone. I reported them to the FBI, Federal Department of Justice and my state's attorney general. I did CA right after the call. The more I read about them and discovered the duration of their harassment, I felt it was time to report to higher authorities. I've also read to report them to the Federal Trade Commission - will do tomorrow.
Mu husband received a phone call yesterday and talk to some guy about his payday loan and was going to court if hadnt paid on it. Or else, they were going to send a FBI to his work and arrest him. I had called the number back since 8pm last night. Not even an answering machine. We tried calling the number again this morning. NOTHING!!! It just said all circuits are busy , please try your call again later. What kind of business is that. Someone needs to do something about these people. They are harrasing and threating us.
I have contacted the FBI, FCC & FTC - basically none of these agencies will do any thing about it. They called my work yesterday saying they were an "officer". I stated I was onto their scam, how did he enjoy the phone calls my husband gave him and to leave me alone as I was having the FBI trace the call and then hung up.
He called right back and told me he'd give me 1 million dollars if the FBI could trace his call or I could pay him $500 to leave me alone. They are not legit as they finally admitted they are harassing to get $$$ out of us losers (his words).
I think this is terrorism and plan on contacting homeland security now. I do feel nothing can stop them since they are not actually here in the USA but are using some sort of program for their number and are calling us from India.
If you get called again, get nasty with them - and I mean nasty with comments about their mothers, their man size etc. They don't like it.
