I got a call from 530-238-5813.  The caller had a heavy foreign accent, called himself "Mark Johnson" and said he was from the IRS.  "There is a problem with the return you last submitted.  You need to call this number right away and speak to Michael Johnson."  I knew it was a fraud immediately, as I have had dealings with the IRS and they write letters, they don't make phone calls.  But I played along to see how good he was.  Not very.  "What are Michael Johnson's office hours?"  "You have to call him RIGHT AWAY."  "What is your ID number?"  He quoted me the phone number he was calling from (which is the same one he told me to call - ge, why not just transfer me to "Michael"?)  I asked again for his ID number, explaining what it was.  He gave me a silly number.  I also asked him if he and Michael were brothers, or is everyone at the IRS named Johnson?  "Just call RIGHT AWAY!"  I hope no one falls for this scam, whatever it is.

Mr. "In Big Trouble" LOL
Heavy foreign accent claiming to be IRS stating I need to call back "right away" - name given - John Morrison.
First, the IRS does not make phone calls and second - This idiot left the message for me on my mother's cell phone not mine! In short, it`s a scam no doubt whatever "they" want which I would venture to guess is some of my personal information

send/give/relay them this info as yours - Its really FBI field office.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

ABC News released an investigative report on this scam a year ago:

I've gotten three of these calls in the last 24 hours, just as the above people say they've happened. I reported them to the FCC, FTC, and local law.

DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM.  Left four messages within two days.  The IRS is just not that efficient.  Report this to the FCC, IRS, and FBI.
