This number called my telephone on 3/16/15 at 2:26PM. I am on the Do Not Call list and have no business relationship with the listed subscriber. The subscriber showed the phone listed to "Booking Genie." An inquiry using Google showed this to be a vacation planner. The customer service number on the Internet site listed what appeared to be a foreign telephone number.
I received that call from 407 278 5748 also and this call is of the same character. I'm not sure if these are the same fraudsters or if it is different people who have obtained our phone number from some purchased list of possible vulnerable scam victims. I posted about that number also. Their behavior in calling is outrageous. It is laughable that they threatened you with perjury as you have to be testifying in court, or lying on a court document where you have sworn under penalty for perjury, to be guilty. They are the ones who need to feel seriously threatened with legal action.
Caller claimed I had put a deposit down on a vacation and I either needed to claim it or I owed $1298. Seriously? I laughed and asked her if a lot of people had fallen for her stupid scam. She got quite irate with me and said she could have me arrested for perjury. Clearly doesn’t know English or what that means. I hung up on her, but then remembered I had an old whistle. So next time they call, I will ask a question or two to make sure they are listening really well....then blow that whistle as hard and loud as I can! Well, that and posted a complaint to the FTC...not that doing so will resolve anything. All I get is a nice polite letter thanking me for my complaint and nothing really gets done.
