Caller ID said Placerville, CA. I have a friend there so I answered which was a mistake. Recorded voice said I had been selected to get a free security system. No doubt a scam.
Got a call and didn't answer so can't say but I have answered and received 2 different security systems for my home. Those calls are usually not scams because they trying to solicit the monitoring service and so will provide the alarms for free in exchange for contracted service for a contracted amount of time, similar to how cell companies use to provide free or discounted phones for 2yr contract.
Called Feb 9 2017. CID said 'VOPI' I don't answer if I don't know who it is. IF it is an alarm company offering a free system, they are a scum bag company! No self-respecting, licensed alarm company is going to ignore the federal DNC list!! In the state of California, ALL alarm companies MUST be state licensed!!! I certainly wouldn't jeopardize my license by cold calling possible clients...
