Robo caller using female recorded voice segments placed by computer based on what they think you are saying. Could not answer a simple question when asked for her phone number. Wanted autism donation for a clearly a fake cause. No real person answered. AVOID. Truth in Caller ID Act of 2009 is law and callers must verbally supply and confirm their caller ID number, if they can't they are in direct violation and can be reported to the F.C.C.
This is a very shameful scam that hides behind a fake charity called Autism Awareness in order to get you to donate $50, $75, or $100. Similar scams use cancer research as a ploy to get you to donate money to these scammers. Unfortunately, these scammers also make people wary and afraid to donate to actual real fundraising drives such as the American Cancer Society. I just hope that karma hits these scammers back so they and their loved ones get autism and cancer themselves!!
This Autism "Awareness" scam uses numerous spoofed tie-line phone numbers from numerous area codes around the country to call asking for donations. That immediately is always a huge red flag alert that these are scammers. Real legitimate charities do not need to rotate to new area code phone numbers on a daily basis. The caller is always a robotic female who (tries to) reply to you based on what you say. The robot even recognizes when I tell her "you are not a real person" or "you are a robot, can I talk to a real person", and it robotically replies back repeatedly "I am a real person". LOL When it asked me "would you like to speak to my supervisor", I replied "yes". The robot then said, "Okay, let me connect you" and then promptly hung up on me. LOL
