I got a call message from 530-334-8169 on Nov 24, 2013. This caller woke me up at 7am and said her name is Lisa Brown. She has a very strong Indian accent. She said she is from IRS, and that I need to call her back for my "tax deficiency". She also said the matter is extremely time sensitive. I called back in the early evening hours around 7pm after coming back from work, but nobody took the call. Her accent is so strong that I had to play the message many times to catch what she was talking about. She pronounces "time" as "dime". All T sounds like D. It all feels like a scam. Can someone look into this number and investigate? Very annoying. Luckily, I have no "tax deficiency", since my employer withholds all my taxes!
It is a scam Grace! The real IRS will send you the bill and/or the paperwork to set up payments at tax time when you've sent in your tax's. They might return calls, but most dealings withe real IRS is sent via the mail.
Report this to the real IRS:

I also received a call yesterday regarding a tax issue. Then today I got another call asking for a person who doesn't live in my home. I explained they had the wrong number. Then the Indian sounding man asked for my name. I told him he didn't need that information. After I hung up he called right back and spoke to my daughter who also told him to quit calling. The third time he called my daughter told him we were calling the police if he didn't quit harassing us. He then told my daughter "FU." Nice Thanksgiving message.
Scam! a man with a thick Indian accent called Thankgiving day and left a message saying he was from the IRS and it was a time sensitive matter(IRS offices are not open on Holidays!!). He called again at 7am the next morning and I told him I would call him back from my cell phone on the number he called in on because we had a really bad connection. It just rang three times and then went dead. Haven't heard back...
