Texted my cell about a room for rent listed on Craigslist twice. I called back. Sounded like a lady from India.
She said she did not call me. Wierd

I received a tax from same number saying he was in the military wanting me to take a check cash it than take the excess transfer it to his mover to enable him to come pick up truck I had on Craigslist

Was it a scam?  Did you get a check?

Yes, it is a scam - if you DO accept such a check, once you've deposited it and then sent the overage to the "mover", the check comes back as fake.  Which means that you're out the money you've sent.  

This is a well-known scam on Craigslist and other sites like it.  Think about it - why can't someone send money to their "mover" themselves?  Why would they even need YOU to send money, unless it's a scam?  That's why Craigslist ALWAYS advises people to deal with LOCAL buyers/sellers and to accept only CASH.
