Same scam as everyone else mentioned. It's collection, magistrate, federal offense, grand jury, blah blah blah. Two calls within two hours. Both recordings in name of Steve Martin of something like that.
A call from 'Pete Margin' calling about an enforcement action executed by the US Treasury...this is the second attempt to contact me...blah, blah, blah...going before a magistrate, grand jury for a federal criminal offense.
He kept saying the number to call was 530-406-9954 when I could clearly see on the caller id that it was 530-460-9954...guy didn't even know his own phone number...it's SO important that I call him back, and he doesn't even know his own number?
This was all an automated call...they left a message.
Just got the same call from 5304609954. Name said was Steve Martin! Same message about Treasury enforcement action. Said his number was 5304069954 which is different from the caller ID. Called twice left messages, didn't ask for anyone or mention anyone specifically. I am going to report this to the US Treasury Inspector General.
Received the same call from Steve Martin from the same #. Then I received a call from Larry Wilkins and 410-630-1960 about the same thing...TOTAL SCAM. Just reported both #'s and "names" to the irs phone scam. They left messages on my answering machine but to be honest I think it was the same person because he sounded exactly the same.
