Same scam as everyone else mentioned. It's collection, magistrate, federal offense, grand jury, blah blah blah. Two calls within two hours. Both recordings in name of Steve Martin of something like that.
I received a call from 5304069954 and 4242940298 from Steve Martin East Indian accent about us treasury and me having issues with a second attempt and they will represent me blah blah blah. I will have to call the US Treasury about this. I owe nothing to the government.
Received the same 3 msgs yesterday afternoon Steve Martin (East Indian, and no, not the "wild and crazy guy" or Three Amigos" version. I called back and the same guy answered the phone. He said that I owed taxes, which is not true. I asked him which tax entity he represented and he immediately hung up the phone. Clearly, it's a scam.
The scammers have now found away to get around my "no solicitation" message. I was bored, so I called the number. Steve Martin, with an Indian accent, demanded my personal information or face prosecution. I told him that he already had that information if I was facing felony charges. I asked, since you are with the Treasury, what president is on the $100 bill? He hung up on me. I love to mess with these scammers!
