Somebody called my husband from this number by the name of Officer Ana Smith from the Dept. Of Treasury saying that husband will be arrested because of 2014 income tax. Apparently they need some money back and they're been contacting us but we do not receive anything from the IRS office if we are bring audited.
Received a call on my cell phone. Just one of many scam calls. Message from a Steve Martin from the Treasury Department. Nice American name, with a heavy Middle Eastern accent. Just like you, fed up with all these calls to my home phone and cell phone. It has been recommended that you report these IRS, Treasury call scams. PLEASE CALL DEPT. OF THE FTC @ 877-382-4357. They were very nice and said they are collecting the info and are working on it. Best advice get call blockers and DO NOT give out any personal information to them. This is what happens when the "liberals" of this world want all data available to everyone. Wake up America. Also call your State Representatives and bother them with these scam calls, identity theft, credit card number theft, etc. If we team together maybe we can make a difference. Remember scammers and crooks do not have to abide by the DO Not Call List. Good Luck to all of us.
Making sure the phone only rings works, too, with time and patience. Without looking the number up, you'll have no idea what the call is about while thieves can't threaten a phone number that has no answer. If you can do it, try it with mystery callers. There's not much that's more helpless than a scammer without a possible victim.
These idiots are operating from a call center in India. They claim to be the U.S. Treasury Department and will come arrest me in 45 mins.
I calmly laughed and asked the scamming Indian lady caller to please have the authorities bring me a large fries, large diet coke, and a big mac from McDonalds when they come. After all, I'm very hungry today. LOL. What a bunch of LOSERS.
