Caller left VM. Claimed to represent Treasury Department. Alleged his desire to assist with problem to avoid federal charges and appearance before magistrate judge. Ended call by requesting call back and closed with the statement, "help us to help you".
Caller had fairly rich East Indian accent. Identified himself as "Steve Martin". I reported Steve to the Treasury Department fraud investigation group. Hopefully, they will return the call for me.
I pray that no one anywhere is robbed by these people. Hopefully, that is the case. Certainly, the Treasury does not operate in this fashion. They never call. First notice is generally by US Mail.
I have received 4 or 5 calls from this **&&++__*%%$ person who calls himself Steve Martin.....I have not responded and so far have seen no police, FBI, NSA etc pulling up to my door to drag me off to federal incarceration....my wife and I both agree this is some kind of scam. While it is an obvious scam to us, there are possibly some people who will be taken in by these threats. I only hope our Treasury Dept will act quickly to squelch these miserable miscreants.
threatening call claiming to be IRS related. urged me to cooperate "to help us to help you"...sorry total BS
