"530-710-1125, Available, CLEC, YMAX COMMUNICATIONS CORP. - CA"

Ymax - that means it's a MagicJack number!

www.ucdavisdu.com is a fake domain and takes you to a Vistaprint template page!

And why would their supposed "warehouse" be in Fort Ashby, WV?

These scam artists have contacted our facility twice... the 1st time we didn't realize it was a scam until it was too late & they got us for $8k in medical equipment. This time they submitted a "purchase order" for over $47k. We have been working with the Univesity of California-Davis in the investigation & they are working with the FBI. Sgt Paul Henoch is in charge of the investigation at the University, he can be reached at 530-752-1172 & via email at [email protected]. UC Davis is not the only University they are using for fraudulent purchases, so please be very careful when accepting purchase orders from other Universities.

It took some digging and investigating to realize that this was a SCAM....
We have had many (e-mail) requests lately through our dealer network for multiple quantities of an item that usually sells one at a time. Each request seems to have the same discrepancies.... A) a College web address without ".edu" at the end of e-mail..... B) Sometimes a request  to deliver equipment to another location other than ordering location.. C) Many mistakes/mispells on the typed copy. D) Mismatches of phone numbers on the order request with the facility site that was 'googled'. (close but not a match).
We all need to do our homework better.. on these 'questionable' "RUSH" orders.

Just had this guy send me over a purchase order for close to $30,000 for some exam equipment we sell. Why hasn't he been shut down by now?  He actually faked the letterhead and signatures!
