IRS tax scammer. Says taxes are owed and need to send money within 2 hours. Number called from is 425-577-7737
However, instructions from scammer: once cashier's check obtained, call IRS supervisor's direct line 530-710-2511
Received a call from the "IRS" his name was Kevin Peterson with a strong accent sounds like Indian. Told me to call back or there would be serious consequences if I did not. Obviously I didn't call back.
I received a voicemail msg yesterday from Kevin Peterson, he said he was a revenue officer and that I must return call to 530-710-2511 immediately or I would face consequences to the full extent of the law.
When the call came in the # calling was listed as "unknown".
I was skeptical but called the # which rang about 15 times and then I got a msg saying the extension was not avail to leave a msg but the mailbox was full.
I received a voicemail about the IRS collecting back taxes and calling back at (530)710-2511. He had an Indian accent and said I would face legal consequences if I did not call back. I will not call him because it is from a scammer phone number.
He left a voice message. His name is Kevin Peterson. He said he is XXXX officer (I could not get it because of his heavy accent), and this was time sensitive legal issue. He told me to call back 530 710 2511 immediately. I am glad that I saw this site. Thanks for posting it.
