If this is truly Virginia Tech, they seem to have been doing this for a while (as prior comments date back to 2012) and they continue to be persistent. They don't give up! Nor do they leave voicemails. I might actually answer if I could confirm the number.
I am a VPI&SU Hokie, Class of '93. I received call, no message was left, and I returned the call. A recorded message stated that I reached a phone within VT campus. No options or any useful information followed. I suspect this was an unauthorized call. I've blocked this number.
