Repeatedly calls, over and over. Is local newspaper subscription. Roanoke Times. I have told them repeatedly not to call my number. Each time increases the number of times they call. Was once or twice a week. Is now three times a day or more. Absolutely refuses to quit calling.
Got call to renew subscription. Told him I had just done that. He insisted that he could give me a discounted rate but when I told him I only wanted Thur thru Sun, he said he couldn't do that so he would just sign me up for 3 days. He wanted my new information and I told him that the newspaper already had my information so he should get it from them. I finally hung up.
We recently canceled newspaper subscription. They called once and talked to us did not renew paper. Keep getting calls and no one saying anything. This is very annoying thinking about calling Roanoke Times and complaining.
I get called from this number on both my cell phone and home phone numerous times a day. No message is ever left, and no one spoke the only time I did pick up. If it was a genuine newspaper or other business, their name would show up in the caller ID, or they would show some class and at least leave a message, and not drive off potential customers with numerous unwanted calls. I would think this is probably someone trying to scam people into believing its a legitimate newspaper or other business and try to get you to give personal information or payment information. I would beware of this caller and not answer it.
I forgot to mention in my previous post that I did finally call the number back to see who answered, and its an automated voice response for some sort of subscriptions, and they give a list of numbers you can press to speak to a representative, place and order, or have your number removed, but I hung up instead. If anyone knows who to report these calls to (someone with the appropriate authority to investigate harrassing phone calls and shut them down, hopefully fine them) please post on here, it would be appreciated.
