Called from 540-834-4160 and left a message asking to call 540-834-0500. According to http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-540-834-4160 it's "Fredricksburg" whatever that means. They sounded like a collection agency.

(540)834-0500 called and left an automated messsage to call back. Called back put on hold for several minutes. They were looking for someone who is not me. Sounded like a collection agency. Told them they had wrong number and asked that they do not call back. Hopefully they won't.
These people are making me insane. They've called my cell phone for months at least twice a week...I finally called back and they were looking for someone who is not me and said they would take my number off. SO ANNOYING!
FYI...the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991 forbids auto-dialed calls to cell phones. Period. And if it's a debt collector who made these calls, chances are very good that it they used an autodialer. You can report these illegal calls to the FCC at this link: https://esupport.fcc.gov/form1088/consumer.do Let the FCC determine if an autodialer was used.
By the way, the TCPA gives you the right to sue the party who used the autodialer to call your cellphone -- whether they called once or a 100 times. The law provides a specific amount (in some cases, it's $500) that the caller must pay in damages for EACH call. Here's a site that explains the details and has other helpful links regarding the TCPA: http://www.tcpalaw.com/free/
