got a call from this number this afternoon. No message left. I am on the dnc list also, but signing onto the list was a huge waste of time. The number of unwanted calls I get are ridiculous.
WHY do you answer a call from someone you do not know are a phone number you do not recognize?? The phone numbers and names on the caller ID are phony. The DO NOT CALL LIST DOES NOT WORK. Read all of the post all around you. THE DO NOT CALL LIST IS FOR EACH STATE AND THERE IS A NATIONAL LIST THAT PEOPLE MUST P U R C H A S E!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When you answer one of these calls you expressed an interest in that person/company and by pressing any number on the phone you REALLY EXPRESSED AN INTEREST and your phone number will be given out to all scam artist in the world. The post that accused EXPRESS SCRIPTS of making these robo calls is sad. This company DOES NOT TAKE PART IN SCAM ROBO CALLS. Robo callers use fake names and fake phone numbers. Look up the National Recovery Associates and look at the large NRA on the outside of their building.. When you answer their fake calls they say "NRA"
How stop these calls is no-one answers . But a lot of people giving them millions. People wake up and if no one gives them anything - calling would stop. How do we get everyone to stop ?
I have put this same info on different numbers that are SCAMMERS. I am retired from AT&T and the 'DO NOT CALL LIST' is a national registry and once your number(s) have been added you DO NOT have to renew it. It is permanently listed. These callers are operating from OUTSIDE the U.S. and do not respect the list. They are using the Internet to make these calls by using a VOIP (voice over Internet protocol). They use a random U.S. telephone number to connect to your home, the number calling you will always say UNKNOWN because the number has not been assigned to a legitimate business. There are several companies that provide numbers for legitimate long distance calls at cheap rates. I use one to call a friend that lives in Europe and I pay 2 cents per minute. Unfortunately, it is NOT the fault of the company that is providing the VOIP numbers. The scammers know how to use this method for cheap calls too. IT IS UP TO YOU TO PROTECT YOUR IDENTIFICATION AND CREDIT CARD NUMBER. DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE IF YOU DO NOT RECOGNIZE THE NUMBER AS THIS JUST LETS THEM KNOW THEY HAVE REACHED A VALID NUMBER. AND NEVER PRESS ANY BUTTON TO BE REMOVED FROM THEIR LIST....THAT IS YOUR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT THAT THEY HAVE SUCCEEDED IN REACHING A REAL PERSON. IF YOUR ANSWERING MACHINE USES YOUR NAME SUCH AS "YOU HAVE REACHED JOHN SMITH, I'M NOT AVAILABLE" REMOVE YOUR FULL NAME AS THIS ALSO GIVES THEM A WAY TO SEARCH FOR CREDIT CARD NUMBERS. USE ONLY A PHRASE SUCH AS "YOU HAVE REACHED (YOUR NUMBER) I'M NOT AVAILABLE, PLEASE LEAVE A MESSAGE". Got a call from this particular number on May 8th 2015 at 5:00 PM and when my answering machine kicked in, who ever it was, started leaving a message but never cometed thier message as they hung up immediately.
I don't answer calls from numbers that I don't reconize, regardless who it's from and if they can't leave a VM, then the call wasn't important to begin with. Even if they do leave a VM, that's no guarantee that I will return thier phone call either.
