U guys r soo stupid. they just call to do surveys. if u dont wanna do them just say add me to the do not call list. that simple. u guys make a big [***] deal out of nothing. get over yourself. ugh.
synovate calls for multiple companies who have a contract with them to conduct research for that particular company; be it health care, motor research, or banking, each of the companies they call for are contracted. just ask to be put on their do not call list and they will remove you. they are completely exempt from the federal do not call list because they are not selling anything or doing telemarketing, they are just market research. calm down.
Funny, sounds like you work there. So they get information that is none of their business by intruding on innocent people, then turn around and sell it to their customers, right?
The best thing to do is not answer. The second best thing to do is LIE. If you accidentally answer and want to save time, have a whistle handy to blow in their ears.

You're a moron. Even though it's Synovate actually doing the calling, they've been commissioned to do so by the company who wants the research done. It might be a government department or a company you do business with (for instance, your health fund). If you want to not receive calls from them, just tell them you'd like to be on their internal Do Not Call list (the federal one only covers telemarketers, not research).
Being rude to market research staff is pretty dumb. They've got your phone number, and if they're calling on behalf of a company you deal with they might have more information. For instance, if they're calling to get feedback on a recent bank branch visit, they'll have your name and some information that helps the respondent to identify which visit the researcher is talking about.
Somebody who objects to having a whistle blown in their ears can easily use this information against you. Most won't, because they're professional. Some might decide to have some fun by dialling your phone number non-stop from a payphone. You'll never find out who is doing it, and they'll definitely have the last laugh.
Or, they could pretend to be someone from the electricity company, telling you that your last bill is unpaid and they'll be turning off the power tonight.
If you don't want to receive market research calls, just ask them nicely to be added to their internal do-not-call list. If you're rude to the wrong person, they could make your life a living hell without any risk to themselves.
